What Are Injectables?
Injectables are cosmetic treatments that can help improve the appearance of your face through various techniques such as wrinkle smoothing, adding volume, or contouring. They offer an excellent alternative for patients seeking a rejuvenated, youthful look without resorting to more invasive options like surgical procedures.
The injections are quick and easy and can be performed in your provider’s office. They often require minimal downtime, meaning you can start enjoying your refreshed new look almost immediately.
The experienced providers at Clariday Aesthetics offer a wide range of injectables to suit different skin needs and goals, including Botox, Dysport, Sculptra, and various JUVEDERM and Restylane fillers.
Who is a Good Candidate for Injectables?
If you want to enhance your natural beauty by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles or restoring volume in your face, you may be a good candidate for injectables. You should also be:
However, each treatment has a unique set of candidacy guidelines. Your Clariday Aesthetics provider can review all the injectables offered at our practice and recommend treatment based on your appearance goals, skin concerns, and health history.
Botox

Botox is an injectable treatment used to soften wrinkles and fine lines caused by aging. It is made from a protein called botulinum toxin that temporarily relaxes muscles by blocking nerve signals to the area.
This can smooth out common skin concerns like crow’s feet, frown lines, furrows between the brows, and forehead lines. In a quick 10-15 minute treatment, your provider will inject Botox into the area or areas of concern.
You may experience minor discomfort during the injections and mild bruising or swelling afterward that can be reduced by avoiding strenuous activity for at least 24 hours. You should not lie down for three to four hours after the treatment or place pressure on the treatment area.
Most patients start noticing the effects of Botox around three days after treatment, with the best results visible at 10 to 14 days. If you like how your brighter, revitalized skin looks, you can schedule maintenance treatments every three to four months.
With regular maintenance, your results can last even longer. However, without maintenance, your skin will return to how it was before Botox.

Dysport

Dysport works similarly to Botox in that it prevents muscle contractions and reduces the appearance of wrinkles for a more youthful look. It can treat all of the same areas as Botox, but it is most commonly used to target the frown lines between your eyebrows.
During a 10 to 20-minute in-office procedure, your provider injects Dysport into five points between and above the eyebrows. You may experience slight redness and swelling, but it will quickly fade.
Patients who choose Dysport may notice visible results just 24 hours after treatment, with most patients seeing improvements after 2-3 days. You can start showing off your refreshed look in no time, as little to no downtime is needed.
Restylane

Restylane is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that can restore fullness, improve the appearance of wrinkles, and make subtle enhancements to the face. Hyaluronic acid is a component of the skin that promotes hydration, elasticity, and fullness.
However, it tends to decrease with aging, meaning you lose those benefits. Restylane uses patented NASHA and XpresHAn Technology to enhance flexibility, lift, and support to follow your face’s natural expression.

Common treatment areas include lips, cheeks, chin, hands, under eyes, marionette lines, and nasolabial folds. There are many types of Restylane treatments, lasting anywhere from 6 to 18 months, including:
Restylane
The original Restylane filler is excellent for patients seeking increased support and structure in the lips and smile lines.
Restylane Eyelight
Restylane Eyelight can reduce hollowing and shadows in the undereye area so you can look more energized and refreshed all day long.
Restylane Kysse
Restylane Kysse uses advanced hyaluronic acid crosslinking to give you fuller, natural-looking lips with increased flexibility and support.
Restylane Lyft
Restylane Lyft is a dissolvable hyaluronic acid filler that can add volume and structure to the cheeks and back of your hands.
Restylane Defyne
If you want to reduce the appearance of deep laugh lines, Restylane Defyne can help soften them for a smoother appearance. It can also correct mild-to-moderate chin retrusion, improving the appearance of a double chin.
Restylane Contour
For natural-looking cheek definition, Restylane Contour can subtly enhance your cheeks to restore a youthful fullness.
Restylane Refyne
Patients with moderate fine lines around the mouth can choose Restylane Refyne to delicately soften lines while maintaining flexibility that moves with your natural facial expressions.
Restylane Silk
If you want thinning lips to look plumper, Restylane Silk can subtly volumize your lips while smoothing wrinkles around the mouth.
Depending on your chosen treatment and desired outcome, your provider may administer one or more injections during an in-office procedure. With no downtime needed, Restylane can restore volume to the skin and enhance your natural features for a youthful fullness.
JUVÉDERM®

JUVÉDERM® is a hyaluronic acid filler similar to Restylane that offers unique treatments for specific areas of the face, including:
JUVÉDERM® ULTRA PLUS XC
The JUVÉDERM® ULTRA PLUS XC treatment is for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds around the mouth and nose.
JUVÉDERM® ULTRA XC
Your provider may recommend the JUVÉDERM® ULTRA XC filler if you want to add fullness to your lips or reduce the appearance of moderate to severe wrinkles and folds.
Your provider will inject your treatment using a needle or a cannula. Depending on the treatment area, your procedure can take 15 minutes to an hour.
Most JUVÉDERM® injections contain lidocaine, a medication that can help reduce pain during the injection. Depending on their chosen treatment, patients typically notice immediate results that last one to two years.
Sculptra

Sculptra differs from traditional hyaluronic acid fillers because it uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA) to stimulate collagen production over an extended period. It can rejuvenate your skin, improving glow, tightness, and contour for up to two years.
Sculptra can restore natural collagen in the cheeks, smile lines, and marionette lines. This creates a fuller, more youthful look.
Sculptra is typically administered in three injections over 3-4 months. The treatments last around 30-45 minutes, with results appearing gradually over time.
